Khenpo Phuntsok Tashi, Director, National Museum of Bhutan, Paro resigned from active service with effect from December 31st 2018 after having served the Tsa Wa Sum with utmost dedication for 28 years starting from the National Library & Archives of Bhutan. He was transferred to the National Museum of Bhutan from National Library in 2001. He initiated and brought about much changes to the museum during his tenure as the director of the museum. He also organized numerous exhibitions within and abroad garnering much enthusiasm and interest in Bhutanese tangible and intangible culture by researchers and foreigners. He is also instrumental in constructing the new exhibition hall and administrative building, which is proving to be very useful.
During his emotional farewell speech to the staff members, he urged everyone to work hard and serve the Tsa Wa Sum with high dedication. Khenpo told the staff that he will be undergoing retreat at Drak Karpo for the benefit of all sentient beings. The family of National Museum of Bhutan will miss him as fatherly figure, a loving and kind boss. The staff wish him all the good luck and success and pray that his retreat may benefit all the sentient beings.
