Planning your visit
Interest in Bhutan is steadily rising, as many international observers consider Bhutan to be a land of happiness, especially as a result of the government’s activity in nurturing the concept of Gross National Happiness. Visitor numbers to Bhutan and to the Museum are increasing every year and we welcome your interest as well.
Opening Hours
- The National Museum is open five days per week from Tuesday to Saturday. It is closed on government holidays, Sundays and Mondays.
- Summer opening hours (April – October) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Winter opening hours (November –March) 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: Photography and videography are not permitted inside the museum. Please place your cameras in the lockers located at the Museum entrance. Photography is permitted outside the museum building and on the grounds. Visitors are also requested not to picnic inside the museum premises. Thank you for your cooperation.
